Farm Shop favorite. We first started collecting Marisha Falkovich's work without even knowing exactly who she was. One purchase of an abstract, painterly cup lead to a vase, a bowl, and more. Falkovich primarily makes vases, bowls, and flower pots in smooshy, contorted, and curvy shapes.
This hand-built bowl features one of her unique hand-painted designs.
Marisha Falkovich grew up in Moscow, Russia, and lives and works in New York; she is a ceramic artist, sculptor, and animator. Using porcelain, sculpture clay, and glaze to create objects that combine form and drawing, her work explores themes of sociology and ecology explored through methods of " 'absurdology," her favorite philosophical mode where professional search looks for the vulnerability of rational sense."
